nightly build

today I built hugin three times, with two builds hitting the net. And there is a new installer snapshot for enblend-enfuse too, with an important bugfix.

The first build, in the morning, was to test a bugfix that Pablo added after he got feedback from yesterday’s snapshot installer. Internal use only, I did not have the time to run it through the quick test I give every snapshot installer before publishing them.

Then in the early evening, Pablo notified us that this would be a quiet evening – no change expected. So I go about making the build, run it through QA, put it on the site. Just when I am ready to publish the news… surprise! There is a note from Guido  announcing the availability of an SVN 2842 archive and Pablo’s reply that SVN 2842 is already outdated and that 2847 had a number of significant changes.

Pablo’s activity continued. The bug tracker was moving. Another dozen of changes. Bugfixes. Pablo changed his plan and could work a few hours on the code. His dedication to the Hugin community is amazing. I think he worked at least until 2AM (Germany). That’s 20 PM here in Québec. Then I set out to build again, and here it is, find it in the download section.

The bug tracker list is getting shorter despite new bug reports being added by our active testing community. There are fifteen entries in the 0.7.0 category. Then we’ll need to go over the remaining 59, many of them old and no longer applicable. We need to make sure that serious bugs get the necessary attention before release.

Hugin 0.7 is on the verge between beta software and release candidate. Most serious issues are gone. Test it, it’s yours! Thank you, Pablo!
